The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) is developing KPD by implementing a new version of the DATEX II standard – v3.4
DATEX II version 3.4 is a significant step forward in the development of the European standard for road data exchange, offering greater precision, flexibility and compliance with the reality of road traffic. Thanks to the expansion of namespaces such as TrafficRegulation and ControlledZone, it is possible to model regulations and restricted access zones more accurately, which translates into better traffic management and information for road users. The integration of the FaultAndStatus component allows for more effective infrastructure monitoring and response to failures, while the separation of extension packages facilitates the implementation of new features without the risk of losing compatibility. This version also supports Platform Independent Model (PIM) compliant modelling, making it more versatile and ready for deployment in a variety of technological environments. As a result, DATEX II v3.4 strengthens the foundations of digital transport infrastructure, supporting the development of intelligent traffic management systems and mobility services.
